The nations of the earth are as dust in the scales to the sovereign God. It is God who raises up nations, sets their boundaries and their times, and decrees their demise. And when the nations rise up against the Lord he derides them as he establishes his anointed king, the Lord Jesus.
As far as nationality making any difference as far as God’s plan to bring people to himself, the purpose of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection was to purchase men for God from every people and nation. And the mission of his church is to make disciples of all nations.
The critical citizenship is the heavenly citizenship that God gives to everyone who loves and trusts his son, Jesus. All of those citizens are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. It is citizenship in the kingdom of God, not any kingdom of man, that ultimately matters.
