For the non-Christian, the fact is that you feel spiritually dry because you are spiritually dry. No, worse than that, you are spiritually dead, “dead in . . . trespasses and sin.” (Ephesians 2:1). To be spiritual dead means that you are separated from God, and you are on your own, a terrible and hopeless place to be.
The problem is that lots of people have substituted a counterfeit spirituality for the real thing, and so don't necessarily feel dry, when in fact they are as dry as bones in a graveyard. This is the deception of false religion.
God is where he has always been and will always be, on the throne of the universe. But “we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way.”
True spirituality is the gift of God to all of those and only those who are rightly related to him through his son, Jesus.
