The first is to replace violence with love. To “treat others the same way you want them to treat you.” To not insist on our own way, “but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3). This, however, runs up against man’s pride, arrogance, narcissism, envy, and insistence on his own way, and the natural man cannot and will not overcome this, so violence will always be with us.
The second solution comes through the work of the Spirit of God in the hearts of people who have embraced Christ by faith, as they are conformed into the image of Christ. In this present age, though, even that will not be perfect.
The final solution to violence must and will be the return of the Prince of Peace, when he will make all things new and cast violent men out of his presence.
