We understand that the SCOTUS did not redefine marriage, but simply chose to ignore the true definition of marriage, given by the one who instituted it, and have simply turned a sinful practice into law. Just because something is legal does not mean it is right.
We react by recognizing that in a very real way our nation is “reaping the whirlwind” for our wholesale rejection of God in our nation’s practices, and God is “giving us over” to our sin; the decision itself is a judgment on our nation.
Finally, we view it as an opportunity for Christ’s church to be strengthened in her unique identity, as being in the world but not of the world.
Ultimately, the decision does not change what we believe or how we act at all.
