We are all guilty of sinning against a holy God, and therefore being liable to his just wrath. But God, through Christ, “came into the world to save sinners,” and to grant forgiveness to all who ask.
People who have experienced this forgiveness are to live in an attitude of forgiveness and be ready to grant it if it is asked for. We are not to dwell on wrongs done against us, and when someone who has done us wrong repents and asks to be forgiven, as hard as it may be, we are grant it, which means that we promise not to bring up the wrong again to ourselves, the other person, or to God; “forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
