Sociological and psychological studies has demonstrated people overestimate their physical beauty, intelligence, generosity and other ego-enhancing traits (self-esteem). According to your faith, how should we see ourselves?

​We should see ourselves according to truth. The Bible teaches each of us “to not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment.” When we see ourselves in the light of God’s word, it is not a pretty sight. Though we are each made in the image of God, it is now a thoroughly defaced image; defaced by sin. We should view ourselves as sinful creatures; Sinful and in need of forgiveness.
We should see ourselves as dependent upon God for everything, “In him we live and move and have our being.” There is nothing that we have that we have not received from him.
Christians, who have been adopted by God as his children, should also see themselves in that light, as forgiven sinners, who are saved through no doing of their own, but by God’s grace. Humility should be our looking glass.
